Grade 7 is learning about ‘Plants’ and cover basic concepts in both Japanese- Science lessons and English-Science lessons. However the focus on skills is different and the teaching styles are different as well.
In the Japanese- Science lesson students are watching a video about different kinds of seeds and leaves of plants. The visuals are stimulating for the students and help reinforce concepts that they learned during their previous lessons. They also learn notes-making skills with the help of guiding questions in the worksheet given by the teacher.

In the English-Science lessons students are analyzing an experiment about the speed of photosynthesis. They have to use their thinking skills and their language skills to answer questions about what happens during the experiment and why. The teacher is always there to guide them and facilitate the development of both skills. To help students with this kind of higher order skills, they work in groups and share their ideas.
